Perfect Day

The sun sinks lower in the sky now
Angles of light diffuse through green leaves
Shifting shadows silently and succintly.
Summer is silently shimmying into fall.
Haze riddled mountains appear bright and clear
and white puffy clouds move their unique
designs across the trees colored by shadows
made by a lower sun.
Evening breezes bring promise
of cooler days and brilliant blue skies.
Oppressive heat dashes from the sight of the
westward wind willowing its way to me.
